Small and slender relative to some Naja, the Red Spitting Cobra, (Naja pallida) from Eastern and North Central Africa, is mostly nocturnal, spending days in brush, fallen trees, termite mounds and burrows. Habitat preferred is savanna, dry grasslands and deserts, frequently near water holes. Their diet is thought to be primarily frogs, amphibians and other reptiles and snakes.
